Netflix has officially renewed drama series YOU for a fourth season ahead of its highly-anticipated Season 3 premiere this Friday on October 15. The renewal came directly from Netflix via an announcement video (watch above) uploaded by the streamer on its various social media pages.

The series is co-created by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti, Gamble also serves as showrunner. Casting news for season 4 will be announced at a later date.

In Season 3, Joe and Love, now married and raising their child, have relocated to Madre Linda, a warm Northern California enclave populated by privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers, and Insta-famous biohackers. Joe is dedicated to his new job as a husband and father, but he is concerned about Love's dangerous impulsiveness. Then there's his heart to consider. Could the woman he's been looking for all these years be right next door? It's one thing to break out of a basement cage. But what about the prison of a picture-perfect marriage to a woman who knows all your ruses? That will be a much more challenging escape.

Season 4 will be produced by Berlanti Productions, Alloy Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Television and will be developed by Gamble and Berlanti and based on the books You and Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes. Executive producers include Berlanti, Gamble, David Madden, Gina Girolamo, Sarah Schechter, John Scott, Neil Reynolds, Michael Foley, Leslie Morgenstein, and Justin Lo.

"Reading Caroline's novel, Greg and I were instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted world view. And it's been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to creepy yet compelling life. We're deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support, and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe get it all very wrong over the past 3 seasons. The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in season 4." Sera Gamble, EP, and Showrunner

YOU is based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name, "What would you do for love?" When a brilliant bookshop manager meets an aspiring writer, his response is clear: anything. A charming and awkward attraction quickly becomes an obsession as he quietly and deliberately removes every obstacle – and person – in his way, using the internet and social media as his instruments to obtain the most private of facts and get close to her.
