Netflix has officially renewed its newly released action-thriller Nemesis for a second season. Created by Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole, Season 2 will continue the high-stakes cat-and-mouse game between hotshot Detective Stiles (Matthew Law) and cunning thief Wilder (Y’lan Noel) across the streets of Los Angeles.

I feel blessed to get a Season 2,” Kemp tells Netflix. “We thank the fans; it’s because of them — there’s no other reason. It's them showing up, them talking about it, and their huge social media response… We are grateful to Netflix for recognizing the power of our audience and bringing us back for the fans.” “We’re going to make sure questions get answered, and even more questions are available for you to answer,” Marole tells Netflix. “Make no mistake, Season 2 is going to be bigger and better.

When we last saw the cops and robbers in Nemesis, they were at opposing ends of the law, with Stiles' kid Noah (Cedric Joe) caught in between. Stiles let Wilder escape to preserve his child. Wilder had the ultimate say: "You were never gonna win!" Stiles will now have the option to answer. “We didn’t pitch this concept without an idea of what we would do in Season 2,” Kemp says. “It’s going to be bigger and more intense, and we’re going to complicate the conflict between these two.” Kemp and Marole promise Season 2 will pick up the story in “unexpected” fashion. “For me, what’s most gratifying is people really getting attached to and focusing on the female characters,” Kemp says. “We had a lot of people ask for more of Charlie and Ebony’s background, and I think that is a place we’d love to explore.

Nemesis Season One tells the story of two individuals on opposite sides of the law, and what happens when an unstoppable force (an expert criminal) collides with an immovable object (a smart investigator). What begins as a series aimed at subverting the heist genre at every turn, fueled by exhilarating life-or-death stakes, family dynamics, and explosive action, evolves into an investigation of what drives us, sustains us, and eventually destroys us.

In the season finale of Nemesis, the relentless cat-and-mouse rivalry between LAPD Detective Isaiah Stiles and master thief Coltrane Wilder explodes into a chaotic, multi-front pursuit across Los Angeles streets. After escalating heists, betrayals, and tragedies—including Wilder murdering Stiles’ father, Amos—the story converges when Stiles, desperate to end the chase, enlists help from a cartel. This backfires spectacularly as cartel gunmen, Noah seeking personal revenge for his grandfather’s death, and Stiles himself all converge on Wilder. In a tense alleyway showdown, Noah corners Wilder but is shot in the leg by a cartel hitman. Stiles faces an agonizing choice: finally capture or kill his nemesis, or save his critically injured son. He chooses family, intervening to protect Noah and eliminating the cartel member he had involved, which allows Wilder to slip away. Wilder escapes and reunites with his wife, Ebony, as they go on the run. Before fleeing, he taunts Stiles with the words that he was never going to win. The episode highlights how both men’s obsessions have shattered their personal lives, fractured families, and blurred moral lines, yet ultimately forces them to prioritize loved ones over revenge. With neither achieving full victory and new threats like the cartel lingering, the finale leaves their conflict unresolved while setting up deeper consequences and higher stakes for a second season.

Nemesis Season 2 will pick up directly from the chaotic alleyway standoff and continue the high-stakes cat-and-mouse game between Detective Isaiah Stiles and Coltrane Wilder in Los Angeles. Stiles let Wilder escape to save his injured son, Noah, after the cartel gunman (whom Stiles had involved) shot him. Wilder got away with the taunt, “You were never gonna win.” Season 2 gives Stiles a chance to respond while showing the heavy consequences of that choice and his earlier obsession-driven decisions.

Expected to premiere in 2027, ‘Nemesis’ Season 2 is likely to explore the wreckage left behind and whether either man can truly escape their nemesis. The first season stars Matthew Law, Y'lan Noel, Gabrielle Dennis, Cleopatra Coleman, Sophina Brown, Ariana Guerra, Domenick Lombardozzi, Cedric Joe, Jonnie Park, and Michael Potts.
