Sony has finally revealed the first trailer of one of the most anticipated films of the year, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Peter returns in the trailer in a brand new suit, only to remember that his friends no longer remember him. The trailer also gives us a first look at Michael Mando's Scorpion and The Hand in action.

The trailer opens with a bright, nostalgic flashback to happier times before the events of No Way Home.  The joyful moment is abruptly cut short as the screen fades to the present day.  Peter Parker (Tom Holland) appears in a quiet, somber voice-over, speaking to someone who clearly doesn’t recognize him anymore. The tone swings to fierce action. Peter approaches Frank (Jon Bernthal's Punisher): "What the hell, Frank?" "You just hit me with a van." Frank dismisses him coldly: "Quit your whimpering." Suit yourself." Peter expresses hurt and irritation ("Mother fu—…") and shouts, "Go home!" A voice-over (Peter) muses, "And sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing, even if it breaks Peter Parker's heart."

The trailer then turns darker and more introspective. Peter is pictured writhing in anguish and moaning, "What is happening to me?" Oh! "Oh, God!" He anxiously begs assistance from Dr. Banner, asking, "Excuse me, Dr. Banner. I need your help." Banner, not recognizing him, asks, "What did you say your name was? "If DNA is mutating, it would be extremely dangerous." A narrator describes the core metaphor: "Spiders have three life cycles. When a spider is between cycles, it may be exposed to attacks. A character warns: "We confront an uncontrollable peril. "One we can't even see." Tension rises as a gruff voice tells Peter, "Get out of my way." "You are losing it, kid." The narrator continues: “And for those spiders who make it through, it amounts to a kind of… Rebirth.”

The trailer ends on a lighter, ironic note. MJ notices the flowers Peter is holding: “Nice flowers.” Peter stammers that they’re a housewarming gift. She introduces herself: “I’m uh, MJ. I’m just a neighbor from across the hall. A friendly neighbor.” Peter chokes in surprise at the familiar name and phrase. Throughout the trailer, fast-paced cuts show Peter as a lone, adult Spider-Man fighting crime in a New York that has forgotten him, combined with body-horror-style mutation sequences and hints of a mysterious, invisible new threat.

Following the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day ushers in a completely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed after the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult who lives wholly alone, having willfully removed himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he's devoted himself entirely to protecting his city, a full-time Spider-Man, but as the demands on him increase, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his very existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 31, 2026. Check out ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Complete Cast - Confirmed and Rumored.
