Amazon has revealed the fourth director for the God of War TV Series, currently filming in Vancouver. Shana Stein, whose credits include The Boys, Gen V, and the upcoming Vought Rising, has joined the list that already includes reputed directors like Loni Peristere, Lawrence Trilling, and Frederick E.O. Toye.
Shana Stein is an accomplished director whose recent work has solidified her reputation as a versatile and in-demand talent in premium television. Most notably, she served as both executive producer and director on multiple episodes of The Testaments, the highly anticipated sequel series to the groundbreaking dystopian drama The Handmaid’s Tale. She helmed the second episode of Season 5 as well as the fifth episode of Season 4—both of which have earned impressive critical and audience acclaim, currently holding IMDb user ratings above 8/10. These episodes further showcased her ability to balance sharp social commentary, intense action, and dark humor within the franchise’s signature tone. Stein’s involvement with the The Boys universe extends beyond the flagship series; she has also directed several episodes of the upcoming spinoff Vought Rising, continuing to shape the expanding lore and delivering more of the bold, boundary-pushing storytelling that has defined the brand.
Beyond these major credits, Stein’s directing résumé reflects an impressive range across multiple genres and platforms. Her work includes episodes of the high-stakes thriller The Hunting Party, the tense limited series 56 Days, the legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer, the Boys spin-off Gen V, the espionage action series Jack Ryan, the contemporary Western Joe Pickett, and the gritty crime drama Power. Through each project, she has demonstrated a keen eye for character-driven narratives, dynamic pacing, and cinematic storytelling that resonates with both broad audiences and industry peers alike.
