The filming schedule for the upcoming TV Series, ‘Life Is Strange’, has been officially revealed, and it's not very far. Based on the video game of the same name, Amazon announced the series in September last year, and the leading actors were announced just last month. Maisy Stella will star as Chloe Price, and Tatum Grace Hopkins as Max Caulfield.
As per the current schedule, the sci-fi adventure ‘Life Is Strange’ is set to kick off filming on June 29, 2026, in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and will wrap up on October 16, 2026. The production is taking a little over three months for the six episodes. The show is currently in pre-production, and casting for the remaining characters is ongoing.
In the series, Max (Tatum Grace Hopkins), a photography student, discovers she can reverse time and save her childhood best friend, Chloe (Maisy Stella). As she attempts to grasp this new power, the team investigates a mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, revealing a dark side to their community that will eventually drive them to make an impossible life-or-death decision that will permanently change their lives.
The series is adapted from a critically acclaimed episodic video game of the same name. It centers on Max Caulfield, an 18-year-old photography student who suddenly discovers she possesses the extraordinary ability to rewind time at will. This power lets her step back a few moments in any situation to alter outcomes—yet every decision she makes ripples outward in unpredictable ways, embodying the classic “butterfly effect,” where even the smallest change can dramatically reshape the future. Armed with her new gift, Max sets out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Rachel Amber, a fellow student whose vanishing has left the community reeling. As she digs deeper, she becomes entangled in a string of bizarre and increasingly tragic events that seem to target the young women at her academy, forcing her to confront dark secrets, fractured friendships, and the heavy moral weight of playing with time itself.
The original game was released in five interconnected episodes spaced throughout 2015, building its story like a serialized television drama. It first launched on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Over the following years, it was ported to additional platforms to reach even more players: OS X and Linux versions arrived in 2016, while mobile editions for iOS and Android followed in 2017 and 2018, respectively. This gradual rollout and multi-platform availability helped the title build a devoted fanbase and cement its reputation as a thoughtful, choice-driven narrative experience.

As per the rumors, the casting for the following characters is in progress. It might be announced in a few weeks as we reach closer to the production start date - Kate Marsh, Nathan Prescott, Courtney Wagner, Dana Ward, Hayden Jones, Juliet Watson, Sarah, Victoria Chase, Zachary Riggins, and Warren Graham.
As previously announced, Karyn Kusama will be directing the first two episodes of the series. Kusama has received Emmy nominations for her role as a director on Yellowjackets and two more for her contributions to the show's outstanding drama series nominations. She has directed episodes for Amazon, including The Man in the High Castle, Dead Ringers, and The Consultant. Her directing credits also include Halt and Catch Fire, Masters of Sex, The Outsider, Billions, The Mysterious Benedict Society, In Treatment, and many more.
The live-action series adaptation of Life Is Strange is being written by Charlie Covell, who is also serving as executive producer and showrunner. Joining him as executive producers are Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson, along with Jen Roskind and Karyn Kusama. The project is a collaboration between Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and LuckyChap, with Amazon MGM Studios producing. Life Is Strange is likely to release sometime in 2027 on Prime Video.
