Although it's mostly a plot you might have seen before, Bad Influencers offers something new for viewers. The plot revolves around BK, a single mother who is struggling to make ends meet for herself and her son Leo. She is under great debt and many other financial challenges that come with it. One day, as fate would have it, she meets social media influencer Pinky. Being the intelligent woman that she is, BK comes up with an idea which, though very risky, has its own advantages too. She manufactures counterfeit bags, and Pinky agrees to promote them because she, too, is losing her regular income from social media. However, things don’t go as expected, and the two find themselves in a very dangerous spiral of criminals and police interrogations.

This plot is very intriguing to watch. As the title suggests, we know who the bad influencers in the show are and how apt the title is. Clearly, the show is a learning for the entire influencer culture itself. How, for the sake of name and money, people agree to sell anything and everything, and then have to deal with the dangerous consequences of the same. It is actually a big learning for us to watch BK and her continuous financial struggles, and Pinky’s need for validation from social media. It isn’t easy being an influencer either, and god forbid if this one gets caught and has a fate like Pinky, life would be far from being easy for them.

What makes the show stand out is the wit and humor with which it presents the storyline. There is no dearth of the same throughout. That makes the show a really fun one to watch. You won’t be out of laughter. The best part is the fact that even in times of big crises and emergencies that BK and Pinky land themselves in, the show doesn’t compromise on laughter.
The plot is also full of twists. For example, Leo’s kind-hearted teacher, Themba, who has a dual role in the show, is clearly the show stopper. Never in our wildest dreams did we think that Themba is more than a teacher.

However, the thing that goes against the show is the obvious plot. This is the kind of story we have already seen before in many shows. Selling counterfeit products and then falling into the trap of criminals and police is a very common plot. Yet, the makers navigate through this familiarity through dialogue and plot twists. That is what makes this show a big standout.
So, viewers, this show is a great watch for your weekend. It will give you enough reasons to laugh, even if the plot is something that you can guess. With a consistent pacing, you won’t feel bored as you sit down to watch it. The actors are great in their comedic timing, and overall, their performance is worth a watch.

Final Score- [7/10]
