Clika follows the story of Chito, a young musician from Yuba City, California, who mostly spends his days picking peaches while also creating and scribbling lyrics in his notebook. When a video of his performance goes viral, he feels he has found a way out of the current life he is leading in the music industry. But we all know that success doesn't come as easily as he thought. Chito, in return, becomes entangled in drug trafficking because of his uncle. He ends up blurring the line between survival and self- destruction.

There are many good things about Clika. For example, being a movie about music, the soundtrack of the film is pretty good. That makes you vibe with the whole plot all the time. Even if you are watching the movie for the first time, Clika will hook you to its music right from the start to the end of its runtime. The music used captured every emotion so well that you will actually see Chito's story via music in a beautiful way.

But perhaps that is the only good thing about the film. The plot is very predictable. Though it deals with survival and self-destruction, after a point in time, the plot, especially in the second half, becomes highly predictable. So much so that even the ending is something that you will end up figuring out for yourself once you start watching Clika. Hence, the question you find yourself asking is whether you are getting something new and interesting to watch. The answer to that question is a big no. There is hardly any character development, any depth in the overall plot of the show, which yet again makes it a big, frustrating watch. Chito's character hardly has any layers or anything nice to see and understand. You might expect that a film like Clika should have its lead as someone being layered. Yet that is something which is lacking here.

Another big problem with the movie is its pacing, which, at this point, I wasn't surprised at all. The pacing is highly uneven. In some scenes, the makers are rushing with the plot; in other scenes, they are moving very slowly. This makes the entire watching experience annoying because you hardly get time to grasp what the makers are trying to tell you.

But even with all this, I feel the biggest issue is the fact that the makers failed to realize its potential. A plot line like that of Clika could have been made in a much better way. That was a big missed potential here. The scope of developing the character was very high here, which the makers again didn't show properly. That was the biggest flaw on the part of the makers, and I wish they had done something about it. Sadly, they don't. Honestly, viewers, if you wish to watch something nice and amazing, Clika isn't something that you should be aiming at. Instead, watch something else and much better that will make you feel as if you did actually watch a great movie.

Final Score- [3/10]
