Watching the movie, I feel that it is a classic case of lost potential. For the first few minutes, you won’t understand what is happening. It is like you are watching the life of someone. But here’s the plot of what happens: the film centers around Toh, played by Theeradej Wongpuapan, who is a bank employee. However, his career has begun to stagnate now. Toh, on the other hand, is also a father who is under great financial pressure because of his career. His daughter’s education costs are rising while his income is decreasing month by month. This results in him trying to make choices that are very difficult in life. In order to avoid all this, he collaborates with his colleague, another bank employee named Petch, played by Ryu Vachirawich Wattanapakdeepaisan, to steal money. But here’s the catch: the bank account he is going to use is an unused one since it belongs to a woman who is dead. Now what follows next is very obvious. This heist of his turns into a game of survival. Toh and Petch soon realise what they have gotten themselves into. And suddenly, the “unused” bank account is the reason for all their troubles. With that come many other dangerous elements packed.
Coming to acting, which is a big saving grace from the script, both Theeradej Wongpuapan and Ryu Vachirawich Wattanapakdeepaisan are worth a watch. They come across as men who are in desperate need of money, not for wrong reasons, but to save their families. Their performance unleashes layers of emotions, which was exactly what was needed for that hour, given the film's plot. For example, when you analyze the character of Theeradej Wongpuapan, you will see how, in his case, he does need the money. But when you think about Ryu Vachirawich Wattanapakdeepaisan, you will see that his aims are different than his counterpart. Even though he knows what is wrong, he still wishes to be a part of the heist these two are conducting.
Now, coming to the plot, the makers have done their best to convey the plight of Toh. They have shown a man who is bogged down because he is the sole breadwinner of the family. And it is indeed sad to see him. But somewhere, the plot doesn’t do justice. At one point, it feels as if all the wrongs in the world just happen to him. The question is why? By the time we see anything different happening to him, we have lost most of the interest in the film. Also, at some places, the scenes feel inadequate. You will think, What is happening here? Why is it happening? Why can’t something better happen? We are just watching a scene randomly. Like the opening scene of a body being licked by a cat, the explanation to it comes much later, when we have almost forgotten that such a thing took place, too.
The fight and the action scenes also feel exaggerated a great deal. They don’t feel natural even one bit. This theme of a “family-fan-who-turned-criminal” to save his family from debts is an old concept. Even if the execution was fine, one can ignore many things. But the execution falters. As a result, the entire plot does. So, viewers, watch at your own risk.
Final Score- [4/10]
