I think it was American journalist and humorist Helen Rowland who said, "Home is any four walls that enclose the right person." However, according to the new Prime Video series Going Home with Tyler Cameron, those four walls only become home if gorgeously decorated. So what should you do? Renovate. Who should you call? No, not Ghostbusters. Contact Tyler Cameron. He appeared in the fifteenth season of The Bachelorette. Now, he has started his own home construction and renovation company called Image One.

All eight episodes of Going Home with Tyler Cameron promote this business venture. They sell Tyler and his team of hardworking employees and partners. There was a time when such things were communicated through billboards or short TV commercials. But now everybody has moved on to the streaming platforms. These streaming services - after promising daring, experimental experiences - first captured the TV audience. Then, they started attracting religious people (Take Testament: The Story of Moses and The Baxters, for instance). Now, they are recruiting businessmen to make a web series out of their advertisements.

Make no mistake, Going Home with Tyler Cameron is an eight-episode-long resume. It highlights the advantages of hiring the services of Image One for your home renovation. Every episode accentuates Tyler and his team's competence. Some of their clients are too picky, while some offer very tight deadlines. Yet, Tyler never fails to deliver on time. None of his clients ever complain about the final result, and Tyler never asks for an extension. He is more efficient than Bob the Builder.

Tyler is more than a builder and a businessman. He is also a bachelor. At one point, Jessica Quintero, a designer who works with Tyler, says this about the male model, "Ladies, he listens." Going Home with Tyler Cameron not only sells Tyler's business but also Tyler. He is shown as the best human being on earth. When he renovates his ex-girlfriend's house or gets irritated by his uncle's demands, he doesn't purposefully spoil something in the house. No matter who or what type of person the client might be, Tyler always does his job in the best way possible. Tyler will treat you like a family member.

Of course, all the clients are good. They might say no to some suggestions at first, but ultimately, they all admire Tyler's work. This is a happy show. The frames are neat and bright. Be prepared for lots of "Heyyyyyyyyyyy" and "Oh my gosh!" The screen practically tells us that Image One guarantees happy customers. Tyler mentions that his father is a harsh critic, and these words ring hollow as the old man gives his opinion only once, and even then, he only praises Tyler. This is just the show's way of saying, "Tyler can do nothing wrong."

It's depressing to watch shows like Going Home with Tyler Cameron. They don't waste your time; they insult your intelligence. It's sad that the streaming services think the audience wants an advertisement masquerading as a "reality" show. They don't believe we deserve better. What's more horrifying is the notion that soon, big companies will start selling their products through eight-episode-long web shows. Brace yourself for a series about the new Samsung phone or the latest iPhone. Streaming services could become the new billboards.

Final Score- [3/10]
