The first clip from the upcoming Marvel Studios movie ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ was released on Sunday during the MTV awards show. The clip (watch above) shows Chris Hemsworth's Thor in action.

In the clip, Thor finally gets to see his hammer, Mjolnir, after a long time, but soon discovers that his favorite toy is no longer loyal to him. The clip shows Thor's happiness when he sees Mjolnir coming in his direction, but soon it changes its direction making Thor feels sad and shocked as Natalie Portman's Jane Foster catches it.

It was revealed long back, and trailers recently confirmed that Jane Foster will become Mighty Thor in this movie and will be worthy to wield Mjolnir. ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is likely to explain Jane Foster's whereabouts after the event of Thor: The Dark World, where she was seen last. The last trailer has already confirmed that both of them are meeting after almost eight years of gap.

According to a rumor, Jane Foster, Thor's ex-girlfriend, and astrophysicist visited New Asgard while suffering from cancer, and her life was forever changed. Mysteriously, the broken pieces of Mjolnir, the hammer of the thunder god, transformed her into the Mighty Thor and bestowed upon her Thor's superpowers to battle internal and external threats. She had become a godly protector, wielding Mjolnir herself, and a new hero had been born!

In the comics, when Thor Odinson was deemed no longer worthy of wielding Mjolnir, Jane Foster was telepathically drawn to the Moon where Mjolnir lay in wait. Upon lifting the hammer, Jane underwent a physical transformation and took on the powers of Thor to become Mighty Thor.

In ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ Thor (Chris Hemsworth) embarks on a journey unlike any he's ever undertaken: a quest for inner peace. However, his retirement is cut short by a galactic assassin known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who desires the annihilation of the gods. To counter the menace, Thor enlists the assistance of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). He, to Thor's amazement, wields his mystical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.  They embark on a dangerous cosmic adventure together to solve the secret of the God Butcher's vengeance and stop him before it's too late.

"Thor: Love and Thunder" also stars Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, the main villain in the film, Russell Crowe in the role of Zeus, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Matt Damon as Actor Loki, Akosia Sabet as Bastet God, Melissa McCarthy as Actor Hela, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, and Simon Russell Beale.

Taika Waititi has directed from a script written by him and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. "Thor: Love and Thunder" will release in theaters on July 7, 2022, in India and on July 8, worldwide.
