I liked the first season of Beauty in Black, but I am afraid I can’t say the same about the second season.  So the plot, for very obvious reasons, picks up where it left off: Kimmie the stripper, who is now a survivor, marries Horace Bellarie on his deathbed in order to block his sons, who are filled with greed, from taking away his fortune. But with Horace Bellarie dead, Kimmie realizes that her life is filled with riches now that she is the ultimate head of the Bellarie family. However, with privileges come issues. She has now developed a beef with the other family members, and most importantly, his ex-wife, Olivia. In addition to all these, there are many other subplots, such as Charles's romance with Varney and Perry, alongside clumsy relationships.

Okay, first things first, this drama feels way out of place. It doesn’t offer anything new. It's boring and, as always, stuck on a loop. With each passing episode, the narrative feels forced. The plot has nothing new to give us. Even the dialogue doesn’t add up to tell us what exactly is happening in the show. As a result, the entire cast's performance also suffers. After a while, you will also notice that instead of Kimmy, it’s the other subplots that take the center stage. Her story is just sidelined, and there is nothing much to offer. It’s just sad because I honestly hoped to see more of her character and what she does. But we don’t get that. And at one point, I was pissed off seeing such baseless subplots. Honestly, though, who thought this show needed a second part? I do understand that the plot from the first part has to be continued, but maybe some aspects would have been nice as well. And that is missing too. The issue is that they didn’t make it the way it should have been. The deeper the problem gets, the blander and boring the script becomes. The show had potential because, like I said, the first season was good. However, the potential was not fully realized by the writers and the overall creators. Which is why we, the audience, are left with torture in the form of this show.

So, overall, you won’t get anything great to watch from this show. I always felt that the first season was decent, but the plot has lost its potential. It shouldn’t have been made into a season, and if made, they should have made it more intriguing. With poor dialogue, bad performance, and a weak script, the show is a big disappointment. If you are looking to watch something better, there are many good releases lined up, and I would strongly suggest that one should save their time and popcorn for them.

Final Score- [4/10]
