Searching 2, the sequel to the hit 2018 movie, which has been officially titled, Missing, has got its first trailer from Sony Pictures. From the minds behind Searching, Missing will release only in movie theaters on January 20, 2023.

Missing is a thrilling roller-coaster film that makes you wonder how well you know those closest to you. When June's (Storm Reid) mother (Nia Long) goes missing while on vacation in Colombia with her new boyfriend, her search for answers is hampered by international red tape. June, who is thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, uses all of the latest technology at her disposal to try to find her before it's too late. But as she digs deeper, her digital digging raises more questions than answers...and when June uncovers secrets about her mother, she realizes she never truly knew her.

Directed and written by Will Merrick and Nick Johnson, the movie is based on a story by Sev Ohanian & Aneesh Chaganty, who directed and wrote the first film. The movie stars Storm Reid as June, Nia Long as June's Mother, Amy Landecker, Ken Leung as Kevin, Joaquim de Almeida as Javi, Tim Griffin as James Allen, Karina Noelle Castillo, Tracy Vilar as Gabi Gomez, Megan Suri as Veena, Rick Chambers, Adelina Saldana, Rita Rucker, Lauren B. Mosley as Rachel, Jameel Shivji as Karthik, Michael Segovia as Marvin, and Monica Bhatnagar.

“Missing” is produced by Timur Bekmambetov, Natalie Qasabian, Adam Sidman, Jo Henriquez, Aneesh Chaganty, and Sev Ohanian.
