Inside the Circle starts off as a plot that manages to grab your attention within a few minutes of the runtime. The narrative revolves around four friends: Tomas, played by Michel Brown, Mario (Raúl Briones), Jaime (Osvaldo Benavides), and Amelia (Zuria Vega). Their lives become complicated after Tomas shares a video that involves a celebrity who died recently. What initially appeared to be a simple act quickly takes a darker turn when the video contains implications that involve one of Mexico’s most powerful political figures. Come to think of it, one parody video turns out to be the last time the actress was ever seen. After that, the news of her death spreads, and everyone is now mysteriously connected to her. How can one come out of a situation like that? Is there something that is beyond what the eyes see?

As mentioned earlier, from the opening episodes themselves, we are shown that this won't ever be a simple, straightforward conspiracy story. The mystery is closely tied to the friendships and personal histories of the characters. This arc gives us a sense of impending doom that seems to be never-ending, with danger that is increasing with every scene.

One of the strongest points that work in the favor of Inside the Circle is the way the central characters and their pasts are portrayed. These are people who have known each other and are quite comfortable around each other. But these years of friendship don’t mean that these people know everything about each other. This is the narrative that the makers have developed. Many of the central characters come to know some of the secrets that form the very core of Inside the Circle.

The plot is filled with twists and turns that you will not anticipate anytime soon. Some of them are quite mind-boggling as well. The various characters change your perspective of how you will view their personal story and the crime at large. No doubt this makes everything very thrilling. There is also a lot of unpredictability that surfaces now and then in the narrative. If you are someone who loves storylines like these, Inside the Circle is what you should be watching.

Another good thing is the cast. Each and every cast member has given a lot of life to their characters. It is because of them that we can feel the thrill in the plot. The way they give their expressions and body language, you can see the fear in them. And that is what makes Inside the Circle a great watch.

The pacing is moderate. Sometimes it falters on certain scenes, but mostly it remains to the point. The times when it falters can be ignored easily because the rest of the scenes make up for it. Thankfully, the pacing is fine because I don’t think we would have liked watching a plot at a slow speed. That is the thing about thrillers; they look the best when pacing complements them. So now all we need to know is whether the group will get out of the trouble they landed themselves in.

Final Score- [7/10]
