Disney revealed a new and final trailer for The Acolyte on Star Wars Day exactly a month before its premiere. ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ will be released on June 4, 2024, on Disney+ with its first two episodes followed by a new episode every Tuesday night.

The mystery of The Acolyte deepens in this new trailer. It begins with Tasi Lowa informing that a Jedi was murdered last night. Qimir, a former smuggler who now makes his living as a trader says, "The Jedi justify their galactic dominance in the name of peace. But that peace is a lie." The trailer moves further as Master Sol informs, "She was my student. I trained her. Let me be the one to bring her in." The trailer also involves other characters like Jedi Knight Yord, Jedi Master Vernestra, and the leader of a coven of Witches, Mother Aniseya.

The trailer ends with a glimpse of an intriguing and fearsome visage when Master Sol spots a terrifying figure carrying a red-bladed lightsaber as he asks, "What are you?" The description of this mysterious character is yet to be revealed.

In The Acolyte which is set 100 years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, an inquiry into a startling crime spree sets a revered Jedi Master against a terrifying warrior from the past. As additional clues surface, they are led down a dark path where nefarious forces demonstrate that not everything is as it appears.

In addition to the final trailer, a new key art for the series has also been released on the occasion of Star Wars Day. The image depicts the cast of people we'll encounter, including assassin Mae, Master Sol, Master Indara and her Padawan Torbin, Wookiee Master Kelnacca, Master Vernestra Rwoh, and the rest of the Jedi Order at its peak. "I hope audiences embrace the duality that exists in every character in the show," Headland said. "The show is like an onion. Each episode pulls away to reveal something different. I hope the experience of seeing it is both thrilling and rewarding."

The series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Rebecca Henderson, Joonas Suotamo, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

The Acolyte comes from creator and showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who also serves as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Jeff F. King, Simon Emanuel, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers; Eileen Shim, Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, and Rob Bredow are producing.

Headland also directed the premiere episodes (episodes 101 and 102). Directors Kogonada (episodes 103 and 107), Alex Garcia Lopez (episodes 104 and 105), and Hanelle Culpepper (episodes 106 and 108) round out the directing duties on the series. Michael Abels, known for his work on Get Out and Us, scored The Acolyte.
