Murder Mindfully has returned with its new season, and this time, things have gotten a lot crazier than its previous one. Season 2 picks up from where it left off, with criminal lawyer Björn Diemel. This time around, the makers have gone deep into his fractured psyche while continuing their act of balance between absurd humor and the consequences that come along with his actions. Season 2 is also starkly different from season 1 in ways that the makers don’t repeat the same kind of storytelling. Instead, a lot of thematic focus is on childhood trauma, emotional baggage, and a sense of self-discovery. When it comes to Björn, he is no longer trying to survive in an organized crime in an attempt to maintain a work-life balance. This time round, he is forced to confront his unresolved past even as enemies and dangers continue to surround him. This is a contrast that Murder Mindfully Season 2 tries to create, which also blends humor with some deep, serious issues.

There are many strengths of Murder Mindfully Season 2. For example, actor Tom Schilling carries the show on his shoulder effortlessly. His portrayal of Björn Diemel makes season 2 worth every watch. He also has amazing comic timing, which ensures that your funny bones are often tickled throughout the run time of the show. Then the supporting cast also deserves high praise. For example, Murathan Muslu as Sascha shines in his role as someone who manages to deliver laughter even in the most serious of roles. His role complements the role of Tom Schilling, which results in a comedic masterpiece.

However, even with all this, there are places where Murder Mindfully Season 2 falters more than one expects from it. The pacing is a big issue this time, too. Some scenes move at a very slow pace, while others are still fine. But that ends up testing the patience of the viewers and also disrupts the entire experience of watching a show. There are moments of introspection, which sometimes make the plot a bit dull. I was hoping these issues wouldn't be there in season 2. But it seems like this was a miss on the part of the makers. Not sure if the slow and uneven pacing was deliberate, but a bit faster speed of the plot and some scenes in particular would have made Murder Mindfully Season 2 even better.

That being said, the character development is good in season 2. We see a lot of growth in the character of Björn Diemel in how he approaches life and danger in general. That is a big change compared to season 1 of Murder Mindfully. The writers have worked hard on Björn Diemel, and it is evident in the entire run time. The humor is dark but good. It ensures that the laughter moments continue without any disruptions for us. So, viewers, if you are up for some funny moments blended with introspection, Murder Mindfully Season 2 is a good watch, provided you are ready to ignore the flaws, too.

Final Score- [7/10]
