The Apple TV+ sci-fi series Invasion has officially begun filming its third season this Monday (February 12) in Vancouver, BC, Canada. A day later, the show was officially renewed for the third season by Apple TV+ on Tuesday.

‘Invasion’ Season 3 will almost take seven months to complete production. Currently, the filming is expected to wrap on September 6, 2024. Alik Sakharov, who has previously directed multiple episodes of the series returns to direct the first episode of Season 3. Sakharov is also an executive producer of the series.

The series comes from Academy Award-nominated and two-time Emmy Award-nominated producers Simon Kinberg and David Weil. Following the premiere of season two, "Invasion" has been praised for "upping the ante" with each season and presenting a "mélange of intrigue, character development, and slow-burn pacing" as well as outstanding cinematography that "captures the charm and eeriness" of an alien invasion.

I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to do with our first two seasons of the show with our partners at Apple TV+ and our cast and crew,” said creator and executive producer Simon Kinberg. “This new season will continue to build on the scale, stakes, and propulsion of the ‘Invasion,’ while keeping our characters front and center, bringing them together in ways that will hopefully surprise and most importantly move our audience, who have been so incredibly supportive and inspiring since day one.”

"Invasion" follows an alien invasion from numerous perspectives throughout the globe. The renowned, action-packed series stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Paddy Holland, and Tara Moayedi. Season two also included new series regulars Enver Gjokaj, Nedra Marie Taylor, and Naian González Norvind. The action-packed second season of “Invasion” picks up just months later with the aliens escalating their attacks in an all-out war against the humans.

Produced for Apple TV+ by Boat Rocker, “Invasion” is created by Kinberg and Weil, who also serve as executive producers alongside Audrey Chon, David Witz, Alik Sakharov, Andrew Baldwin, Dan Dietz, and Katie O’Connell Marsh. Nick Nantell serves as executive producer for Boat Rocker.
