So, as the name of the series already suggests, this is supposed to be a slapstick comedy. The beginning and the end might not make sense much, but nevertheless, if you want to watch something without brains, this is your series to watch. At the core of it is Theo, who is getting angry at a driver for refusing to let him change lanes. So this was a chaotic start to the show. Soon, one thing leads to another, and Theo is served a big fine he can’t pay. Even his parents don’t have enough money to pay the fine. Things at home are complicated with Theo’s dad deciding that, instead of paying for food supplies, it is better to get perfectly good supplies from a dump. Now, with all common sense in the world, we know that the supplies from a dump are dirty and gross, but nonetheless. Everyone in this show needs something or the other. Theo needs money to pay for the fine, his father needs a new kidney, and her mother needs something that we don’t know what. She is frustrated with the family, and she even suggests the nurse put him in a coma so that he won’t be up for a few years, and they all can be happy. But of course, that cannot happen. Theo lost his job for his stupidity, although his knowledge of things was pretty good. So now the question is, will this family achieve what it is aiming at?
For starters, this series looks as if it were written by a kid. The acting and the direction also indicate the same. Perhaps that is how the makers want us to see- a slapstick comedy that will annoy you at the core. At the start of the show, even I was watching with my brain on. Then, in a few seconds, I realized what mistake I was making. And since I decided to watch it without using my brain, it became easy to tolerate it.
However, that doesn’t mean that you should watch it. Kindly don’t until you want to laugh without effort. Even if that is the case, I would suggest you watch something else. This can feel like torture at one point. I don’t really understand how slapstick comedies work, and who are the people who enjoy them? At a time when there is comedy gold available to us, why make something that makes zero sense? Maybe some viewers like it. I don’t really know who they are, but if you are one of them, then please go ahead and watch it.
There are curse words used in the show. Hence, I would recommend not watching it in front of kids or at a high volume. Other than that, there is nothing great about this show. Yes, one thing is there, the role of “mum” played by Theodore Saidden himself is a really cute one. Not sure who his inspiration was, but it was fun watching him in that role. Other than that, watch the show at your own risk.
Final Score- [6/10]
