‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ - All New Scenes Explained

In the buildup to Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Studios has re-released Avengers: Endgame with a few new scenes; however, not all of them are showing in every theater, as Marvel has kept them exclusive to Infinity Vision-certified screens. Not every theater shows the same amount of new material: standard screenings add roughly 2 minutes, while the Infinity Vision version adds about 5+ minutes and includes the fuller Doomsday setup.

Here are the four new scenes in detail:

1. Extended ending: Loki interrupts Steve and Peggy’s dance

The original ending—Steve Rogers living in the past with Peggy Carter, sharing their long-awaited dance—continues instead of cutting away. A knock comes at the door. Steve steps out of sight. Peggy opens it and asks if she can help the visitor. Loki (in his TVA uniform from the Loki series) replies something like, “No, but I can help you. Both of you.” He knows Steve is there. Steve steps forward. They exchange looks, and the scene cuts to black before Loki explains why he’s come.

This is the TVA-era Loki (post-Loki Season 2, before any later evolution). Either he is warning them or relocating Steve, Peggy, and their family to another branch of the multiverse for protection because Steve staying in the past created problems. It recontextualizes Cap’s “happily ever after” and sets up his involvement in Doomsday.

2. Mid-credits: Doctor Doom “collects” Bruce Banner

This follows Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where Banner/Hulk had a destructive incident. An older Banner (grey hair and beard) is isolated in a military bunker miles underground. He records a video log: he has locked himself in so “the Hulk is not getting out of here. And nobody is getting in.” He is working on a gamma-suppression serum after his first major incident in over a decade.

The lights flicker, the camera glitches, and a green glow appears. Banner asks who is there. An unseen Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.’s voice) says, “Mr. Banner. I’m here to collect you.” Banner begins transforming; a Hulk roar is heard. Both vanish, leaving a glowing green Latverian sigil on the floor. Doom remains off-screen.

This confirms Banner/Hulk’s return for Doomsday and shows Doom recruiting or capturing one of the strongest remaining heroes.

3. Credits scene: The TVA watches the multiverse collapse

Set at TVA headquarters after Loki has taken on his greater role holding the timelines. Miss Minutes delivers a warning about staying in your own universe. Mobius arrives (passing a “Loki – Employee of the Month” sign). Casey and O.B. (Ouroboros) monitor the screens, which show the multiverse as a tree.

They detect an incursion between Earth-10005 (the Fox X-Men/Deadpool universe) and Earth-1127. The two Earths are firing missiles at each other, each trying to destroy the other before they collide. More incursions rapidly appear—dozens, then hundreds, then thousands. Other realities shown as already terminated or destroyed include the 2003 Hulk universe, the 2015 Fantastic Four universe, and a What If…? Captain Carter universe. O.B. says the multiverse is collapsing.

This establishes the incursion crisis as already underway and brings back Loki supporting characters (Mobius, O.B., Casey, Miss Minutes). It directly sets the scale of the threat in Doomsday.

4. Final stinger: Doctor Doom forges his mask

The original Endgame ended the credits with the sound of Tony Stark hammering his first Iron Man helmet (from the 2008 film). The Encore version intercuts or replaces that audio with visuals of Doctor Doom hammering his metal mask into shape on an anvil—the same sound, now associated with Doom (also played by Robert Downey Jr.). It is a brief visual callback that reframes the original tribute as a passing of the torch to the new threat.

These additions turn the original film’s closed-ended finale into setup for the Multiverse Saga’s next chapter. The Loki and TVA scenes especially reframe the consequences of the time heist and Cap’s choice to stay in the past.

If you want all four scenes I described earlier, you need an Infinity Vision-certified screen or IMAX. A regular theater will only give you the Loki ending extension and the brief Doom mask stinger.
