The third season of Emily in Paris ended with Camille breaking her marriage with Gabriel and she left him on the altar. The reason she stated behind her decision was that she saw love for Emily in Gabriel's eyes. The audience knew that this all was false and in fact, she wanted to be with Sophia. This caused a rift between Emily and Alfie. The season starts with a sizzling video covering events that happened at Camille’s parent's estate. Everyone now knows Emily as the couple-breaker. The one making these videos is none other than the bride's brother.
Things move forward and Emily tries to rebuild the lost peace in her life. Though she didn't get back with Gabriel, their coming together was inevitable but not before a lot of unnecessary twists occurred. At the marketing company Emily works at, a whole lot of drama is happening with Sylvie uncovering decades-old secrets. Her husband is back and chooses to stay there by establishing a club. Mindy is with Nico and the relationship isn't stable, all credits go to Nico’s father. Luc is with his girlfriend (the one who's a Michelin star worker), and she has many secrets to tell.
After watching this season's part one, I'm pretty sure that the fans of the series are fed up. Please it's season four already and Emily is still stuck upon whom she loves. Shouldn't this be sorted out now? In the end, she finally chose Gabriel but to what expense? Again at the end of this part, a problem has emerged which can possibly separate these two. Camille wasn't pregnant after all and we know whose shoulders she prefers at times like these. It's not Sophia's, it's Gabriel’s, and Emily already was past the jealousy part. The next part of this season will potentially show Camille and Gabriel growing closer, and since Gabriel didn't get a Michelin star, he's having his fair share of bumpy rides.
In all, the writers of the series should introspect and not make another season just for the sake of its popularity or the views it'll gather. There are moments when one will feel like skipping the show for the best. One thing worth noticing in this series has always been the wardrobe however, some of Emily's outfits looked bland. It's always the same thing, the people at the marketing firm working for luxurious brands, problems arise and then Emily comes as a savior and solves the issues. Alfie is also mostly a show and after the first two episodes, it felt like the writers completely forgot his character. A major question arises at this point and that's how with a release of five episodes the show isn't able to make any substantial progress. Is Emily in Paris just about fashion now? What the audience needs at this point from the show is a drama that'll enrich their interest back in the show again.
Final Score – [6/10]
