“Love Through a Prism” is one of those light-hearted, feel-good anime that can make you feel better the moment you watch it. Created by the author of “Boys over Flowers,” Yoko Kamio, the plot revolves around Lili Ichijoin, a young Japanese student who is studying in England at the renowned Saint Thomas Art Academy. She is determined to perform well in her course and also make her parents proud. But this journey isn’t that easy. Through self-determination and a journey filled with experiences that make her discover her true self, she starts off in order to become the best in a foreign land. Spanning a total of 20 episodes, we witness the various ups and downs that she encounters. However, she isn’t alone in his journey. She is supported by another supremely talented person, Kit Church, who happens to be an aristocrat and her classmate. Even then, the relationship they share is complicated- marked by fondness for each other as well as misunderstandings that surround them. This becomes a story of love and ambition and how life puts us at a crossroad of both, making us choose what we love.

The themes explored might look normal, but the way they have been explored is in great depth. There is passion that we get to see in the plot, both for love and the art that our main characters are into. Alongside the leads, even the side characters add nuance to the plot. For example, Dorthy brings a flair of emotional balance to the story. A touch of mentorship is added by Professor Brant and other academic figures, as shown throughout the plot. Each of the characters isn’t just a pawn; they all hold a significant role in the series.

Coming to the most crucial aspect of any anime: the visuals. The visuals are a treat to our eyes. Everything not only looks, but also feels very real. The visuals appear to be soft, trying to speak to us by way of the characters shown. Even the colors used give a sense of warmth to the overall show. The artistic appeal shown, especially because the show is also related to art, is one of the most striking features that I personally found in the show.

The pacing is fine as well. Even in 20 episodes, a plot like this doesn’t feel boring or lengthy at all. It moves evenly, slowing down when needed and moving fast again when needed. This helps us to get a grasp of what the makers are trying to tell us by way of the script prepared by them.

So, for those of you who wish to watch something soft yet meaningful, “Love through a prism” is a must-watch for you. It offers you peace and quiet moments that you crave, filled with ambitions and personal connections of the characters. It is a well-created, thoughtful series that will leave you feeling contented.

Final Score- [8/10]
