Euphoria ended way better than I expected - guns, duel, raid, revenge, death, and much more. The final episode of the season, as well as the series, is the longest episode ever and delivers a tragic, emotional, and conclusive ending centered on Rue's fate, revenge, grief, and closure for the core characters. Episode 8 wraps up major arcs from prior episodes. It emphasizes the devastating cost of addiction while offering bittersweet resolutions, tributes (notably to Fezco and Angus Cloud), and themes of faith, revenge, found family, and chasing "euphoria."

The episode, "In God We Trust," opens in the immediate aftermath of events at Laurie's compound. Rue (Zendaya) is stealing from Wayne's safe when Faye (Chloe Cherry) betrays her by screaming to wake him. Rue fights back: She hits Wayne in the leg with a wrench and knocks out Faye. She flees but is pursued by Wayne with a rifle. She escapes initially but gets lassoed and dragged by Harley, who is on horseback. G (Marshawn Lynch's character) shoots Harley, allowing Rue and G to get away. Later in the night, when the DEA raids Laurie's operation. Wayne and Faye flee. Laurie hangs herself from the rooftop to avoid arrest. Drugs had already been moved back to the Alamo by Bishop.

Alamo congratulates Rue on surviving and gives her money plus a bottle of Percocet for her pain and injuries. Unknown to Rue, the pills were laced with a lethal dose of fentanyl. This is revenge—Alamo suspects (or knows via Maddy's earlier slip) that Rue was informing on him to the DEA as part of a deal. Rue, desperate and in pain, accepts and later takes them despite her ongoing struggle for sobriety.

Rue gets to Ali Muhammad's (Colman Domingo) place and crashes on his couch. She listens to spiritual/Bible-related content while holding the pills, torn between temptation and recovery. News breaks: Fezco has escaped prison using parkour (a direct tribute to Angus Cloud's character and the actor). Rue rushes out to pick up Fez while in a drug-induced state (as indicated by hallucinations while dying). This causes emotional flashbacks of happier times with him. She sneaks into her former family's house through her bedroom window and has a deeply poignant reunion with her mother, Leslie (Nika King), who is reading the Bible. They embrace. Visions may have elements of Jules or her father. These scenes are moving, summarizing Rue's lifelong quest for happiness, love, and relief from pain. The scene cuts to reality as her body shuts down.

The next morning, Ali wakes to find Rue dead on the couch from a fentanyl overdose. He immediately tests the pills, confirms they were laced, and breaks down in grief. Ali calls Rue's mom, Leslie, with the devastating news. Rue dies thinking of her loved ones (Jules, Fez, family), numbed from pain—a tragic but somewhat peaceful fade in her mind. The show portrays it honestly as both tragedy and potential release.

Devastated and vengeful, Ali arms himself with a sawed-off shotgun and heads to Alamo's strip club. He confronts G, shoots him in the dick, and sparks a bloody shootout with Alamo's men. Ali demands that Kitty get her manager. She’s present amid the escalating tension and shootout. Alamo briefly uses Maddy as a human shield. Bishop (Darrell Britt-Gibson, one of Alamo's men) betrays Alamo by unloading his gun or dropping the bullets, saying something like "May God have mercy." Ali fires multiple shots to ensure it's done killing Alamo. Maddy feels immense relief and freedom afterward.

Meanwhile, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) & Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) grieve together at a diner post-Nate's death. They end up living in Nate's old house. Cassie doubles down on her OnlyFans/internet fame empire and proposes turning the house into a boarding setup for girls/influencers/sex workers. She asks Lexi to join as a "storyteller"—Lexi declines. Cassie has private moments of crying over her wedding photo with Nate. Maddy has a tense encounter with Alamo but emerges relieved and free after his death; she accepts a ride home from Bishop.

At the end of the episode and in the final moment of the series, Ali visits the Miller family ranch (referencing earlier-season elements). He joins them for dinner, leads grace/prayer, and has a redemptive vision of Rue smiling in an empty chair. The episode closes on a note of grace, peace, and reflection amid the tragedy—"May God bless us all" or similar voiceover elements, with symbolic imagery (possibly an American flag).
