After a long wait, the fourth season of this mystery horror series has finally arrived, and as usual, it creates more mystery. The premiere episode of Season 4, titled "The Arrival," starts at the same point where the third season left us hanging. As we saw, the old man in the yellow suit slashed Jim's neck in front of Julie as she kept crying. The old man tells her and Jim that they always end up in the same situation, but this time Jim won't be able to see what happens next. Does this mean Jim is actually dead? Surprisingly, Julie disappears, and next time we see her, she is not the same. Both Julie and Tabitha are waiting for Jim to return, and they were clueless that he is likely dead or breathing his final breath in the woods. The episodes continue the time loop mystery while expanding its scope and impact.

Fatima is still recovering after giving birth to "Smiley," while Boyd is in shock and disbelief that the only creature killed in the Fromville came back in a very terrifying way. Boyd seems to be falling apart and doesn't keep his hopelessness engulfed by himself as he asks Kenny for a headcount of all the people, as he realizes that the only way out of here is to die on their own terms before the creatures tear them apart. As both of them were counting the bullets, a new car struck the sheriff station, introducing us to the new characters, Sophia and her father, who are part of this season. But how long they will survive is definitely on their intelligence.

Meanwhile, Elgin lay recovering in the colony house, his body still battered and bruised from the brutal torture Sara had inflicted on him in a desperate bid to extract Fatima’s whereabouts. Kristi worked carefully beside him, gently patching up his wounds with steady hands and quiet concern.  Fatima, her eyes wide with a mix of anguish and urgency, pressed everyone for answers about what had truly happened to her child. Boyd took a deep breath and recounted the entire harrowing story, struggling to explain the unexplainable events that had unfolded. Fatima then stepped forward and revealed to the group the chilling truth about the creatures’ immortality, detailing exactly how they had achieved their eternal, undying state. Yet beneath her words burned a clear undercurrent of deep disappointment and frustration toward everyone in the room for refusing to believe that she had genuinely been pregnant all along.

The episode masterfully wove together layers of gripping mystery and heart-pounding suspense, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with clever twists and lingering questions. Yet the true horror element felt strangely absent, lacking that raw, visceral terror that usually sends chills down the spine. What truly elevated the story was the introduction of what appears to be the very first intelligent supernatural creature that instantly sparked a renewed sense of intrigue and excitement. The man in the yellow suit emerges as an overwhelmingly formidable foe, his calculated menace and sheer presence making him the most dangerous antagonist the series has unleashed so far. And the girl in yellow? She’s clearly destined to unleash absolute chaos and devastation, her unpredictable power on display in this episode, leaving no doubt that she will wreak unforgettable havoc in the episodes ahead.

The season premiere built to a haunting crescendo, closing on Tabitha and her family huddled inside their home as an eerie, supernatural shaking rippled through the walls and floorboards, rattling windows and sending vibrations of dread coursing through the air as they anxiously waited for Jim’s return. Meanwhile, in the dimly lit clinic just a short distance away, Sophia dramatically revealed her true identity, unveiling the hidden layers of who and what she really is, while Kenny lay fast asleep in the next room, completely unaware of the shocking confession unfolding mere feet from where he rested. With these tantalizing threads left dangling, the remaining episodes promise to peel back even more secrets, hopefully delving deeper into the mysterious connection between Julie and Sophia and finally exposing the intense rivalry simmering between them.

Final Score - [8/10]
